Conditional Sentence

Kamu sering menghayalkan, kan? Juga pasti sering mengandai-andai, iya kan? Nah menghayal atau mengandai-andai itu dikatakan sebagai conditional sentence. Dalam Bahasa Inggris, conditional sentence dibagi menjadi 3 macam : Type 1 yaitu keadaan yang mungkin bisa terjadi di masa mendatang  (future possible condition), Type 2 yaitu keadaan yang tidak mungkin /tidak  nyata sekarang ini (present unreal condition) dan Type 3 yaitu keadaan yang tidak riil/ tidak nyata di  masa lampau (past unreal condition).

1.Conditional Sentence Type 1

Rumus:

IF + S + VERB (PRESENT) , S + WILL + VERB

Contoh :

1. I will buy a new bag if my father gives me some money.
2. if she goes to jakarta, she will get a good job.
3. If I get merried, I will have two children
4. I will buy a ferrari if I were rich.
5. If I get a good job, I will marry her


Note : untuk kalimat conditional sentence semua "to be" menggunakan "were".
jika "if" berada di tengah kalimat, maka tidak perlu diberi koma (,)
contoh :
I will buy a ferrari if I were rich.

2.Conditional Sentence Type 2
 Rumus:

IF + S + VERB (PAST), S + WOULD + VERB

Contoh :
1. If Ann helped me, I would finish my work early
2.  You would feel healthier if You stopped smoking.
3. Sarah would lend me some money if I asked her
4. if It were holiday, I would go
5. I would tell You if I saw the movie

3.Conditional Sentence Type 3
Rumus:

IF + S + HAD + VERB III, S + WOULD + HAVE + VERB III

Contoh :
1. If I had studied hard, I would have passed the exam.
2. I would have gone to U.S if I had spoken english well
3. IF We had played better, We would have won.
4. I would have arrived on time if I had taken the bus to campus
5. If I had seen her, I would have said hello
